ഒരു മൂന്നാര്‍ യാത്ര
തലേ ദിവസത്തെ ഓട്ടത്തിന് ശേഷം വളരെ വയ്കി ആണ് കിടന്നത് .. ഒരു രണ്ടര ആയപ്പോള്‍ ആണ് ഓര്‍ത്തത്‌ cd വാങ്ങിയിട്ടില്ല എന്ന്, ഉടനെ ബൈക്ക് എടുത്തു പോയി ഹി ഹി ഇപ്പോള്‍ വിചാരിക്കുനുണ്ടാവും ഈ രാത്രിയില്‍എവിടെ cd കിട്ടാന്‍ എന്ന് അല്ലെ..അതാണ് ഞാന്‍ . KSRTC ബസ്‌ സ്റ്റാന്റ് ന്റെ അടുതുല്ലകടയില്‍ നിന്നും അത്ഒപ്പിച്ചു.
വയികിട്ടാതെ ഏറ്റുമാനൂര്‍ പാര്‍ട്ടി കഴിഞ്ഞു ഫുഡ്‌ അടിച്ചു വളരെ ഷീനിച്ചിരുന്നു കിടന്ന പാടെ ഉറങ്ങിരാത്രിയുടെ അന്ദ്യ യാമങ്ങളില്‍ അതാ ഒരു പാട്ട് ഒഴുകി എത്തുകയായി റൂമിലെ അന്ടകാരത്തെ കീറി മുറിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് എന്റെ പ്രിയ കൂട്ടുകാരന്‍ മൊബൈല്‍ അവിടെ കിടന്നു അടിച്ചു പൊളിക്കുന്നു ...കാര്യംതിരക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ നമ്മുടെ ബസ്‌ ഡ്രൈവര്‍ വന്നു കാവിന്റെ അവിടെ കത്ത് നില്‍ക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു .
.... ചാടി എഴ്ഴുന്നേറ്റു തോര്‍ത്തും ഇടിത് നേരെ ബാത്‌റൂമില്‍ ചെന്നാണ് ലാന്‍ഡ്‌ ചെയ്തത് , പോകുന്ന പോക്കില്‍പൌഡര്‍ ഇടുന്ന അമ്മയെയും ചീപ്പ് കൊണ്ട് തലയില്‍ വയലിന്‍ വായിക്കുന്ന അച്ഛനെയും ഒരു മിന്നായം പോലെകണ്ടു . ഒരു വിധത്തില്‍ കാര്യങ് ഒക്കെ ഒരു ജാസ്സി ഗിഫ്റ്റ് ഈണത്തില്‍ പാസാക്കി പുറത്തിറങ്ങി കുപ്പയതിനെഅകത്തു കൂടെ കയറി ഇറങ്ങി . സമയം ഏതാണ്ട് 5:13 AM ആയി , സദനങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം എടുത്തു ഞാനുംഅച്ഛനും കൂടെ കാവ് ലക്ഷ്യമാക്കി നടന്നു , എല്ലാം ഡിക്കിഇല വച്ച് നില്‍ക്കുമ്പോള്‍ അനിയന്‍ ചേട്ടനും കിച്ചു വുംകണ്ണനും വന്നു , പിന്നെ എന്റെ അമ്മ മിനി ചേച്ചി തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ അവിടെ എത്തി പള്ളിപുരതമ്മയെ വനഗ്ഗി ബസ്‌ലോട്ട് കയറി .
വണ്ടി നേരെ എട്ടുമാനൂര്‍ക്ക് വിട്ടു , അവിടെ ചെന്ന് നോക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു കല്യാണത്തിനുള്ള ആളുകള്‍ ഉണ്ട് , ബസില്‍ സീറ്റ്‌ തികയുമോ ആവ്വോ ? എന്തായാലും ഉള്ള ആളുകളേം സാധനവും കയറ്റി വീണ്ടു തുടങ്ങി യാത്ര , വല്യ പിള്ളേര്‍ മുന്‍പിലും ഇടത്തരം പിള്ളേര്‍ ഇടയ്ക്കും പിന്നെ ശരിക്കും പിള്ളേര്‍ പുറകിലും ഇരുന്നുചെറുതായി അടിച്ചു പൊളിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി ..
അതാ വരുന്നു ആ വാര്‍ത്ത‍ '' എന്റെ സ്ട്രോള്ളി ഇല്ല '' സുട്ടെന്‍ ബ്രേക്ക്‌ ഇട്ടു വണ്ടി ഒരു വിടത്തില്‍ വഴിയുടെഅരുകില്‍ നിര്‍ത്തി . കാര്യം തിരക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ അമ്പിളി ചേച്ചി യുടെ സ്ട്രോല്ലി എടുത്തിട്ടില്ല പിന്നെ ഒരു അരമണികൂര്‍ സ്നാക്ക്സ് ഒക്കെ തിന്നു റബ്ബര്‍ മരങ്ങളോട് കിന്നാരം പറഞ്ഞും ഇടയ്ക്കു ഇടയ്ക്കു വന്ന ടിന്റു മോന്‍താമസകള്‍ക്ക് ചിരിയും പാസാക്കി ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കണ്ണന്‍ എന്ന് പേരുള്ള ഒരു പയ്യന്‍ ഓട്ടോയില്‍ സ്ട്രോല്ലിഎത്തിച്ചു . തിയേറ്റര്‍-ഇല ഫിലിം പെട്ടി വന്നപ്പോളുള്ള സന്തോഷത്തില്‍ ഞങ്ങള്‍ വീണ്ടു യാത്ര തുടര്‍ന്ന് നേരെആര്യാസ് ഹോട്ടലിന്റെ മുന്‍പില്‍ ചെന്നു. നല്ല തകര്‍പ്പന്‍ ടോസകള്‍ എല്ലാരും അകത്താക്കി പിന്നെ നല്ല പാണ്ടികാപ്പിയും പാണ്ടി ചായയും ഒരു രസത്തിനു എല്ലാരും വിഴുങ്ങി . വീണ്ടും യാത്ര ഇപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു 9 മണി ആയ്യികാണും . ദാരാളം തമാസകള്‍ വന്നു പൊട്ടുനുണ്ട് , ഇതിനു പുറമേ അതാ വരുന്നു ഒരു കോമഡിCD, ചിരിക്കണോവേണ്ടയോ എന്ന് ആലോചിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ലാല്‍ ചേട്ടന്‍ ഇടപെട്ടു ഒരു സിനിമ ഇടീപ്പിച്ചു PASSENGER , ദൈവസഹായത്താല്‍ അതിന്റെ ക്ലൈമാക്സ്‌ ഇപ്പോളും ആര്‍ക്കും അറിയില്ല .
റബ്ബര്‍ കാടുകള്‍ക്ക് ഇടയിലൂടെ വണ്ടി ഹെയര്‍ പിന്‍ വളവുകള്‍ കയറാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി , അപ്പു ന്റെ ക്യാമറ മരങ്ങളെനോക്കി ചിരിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി . അര്‍ത്ഥ കൊറേ ആളുകള്‍ കൂടി നില്‍ക്കുന്നു അതില്‍ ചിലര്‍ ഒരു ലജ്ജയും കൂടാതെ ഒരുവ്യക്തിയുടെ മുന്‍പില്‍ കെട്ടി പിടിച്ചു നില്‍ക്കുന്നു ...ഓ അവര്‍ ഫോട്ടോക്ക് പോസെ ചെയ്യുകയാണ് ...ഇവിടെഎന്താ ഇത്ര വിശേഷം എന്ന് നോക്കിയപ്പോള്‍ ഒരു 47 പൈപ്പ് പൊട്ടി വെള്ളം ചീറ്റുന്ന പോലെ ഒരു ഭയങ്കരന്‍വെള്ള ചാട്ടം . അവിടെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ കുടുംബക്കാര്‍ ക്യാമറകള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പില്‍ ആനി നിരന്നു . സത്യം പറഞ്ഞാല്‍അവിടെ ഉള്ളതില്‍ ഈറ്റവും കൂടുതല്‍ ക്യാമറ നമക്കയിരുന്നു .മാട കടയില്‍ നിന്നും ഉപ്പിലിട്ടത്‌ എല്ലാരുംവായിലിട്ടു , അതിന്റെ ഗുണ ഗണങ്ങള്‍ വാനോളം പുകഴ്ത്തി വിണ്ടും തീരാത്ത യാത്ര ...
ചായ തോട്ടങ്ങള്‍ കണ്ടു തുടങ്ങി , നമുക്ക് വഴി തെറ്റിയിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് വഴിയിലെ ബോര്‍ഡുകള്‍ വിളിച്ചുപരയുണ്ടായിരുന്നു . അങ്ങനെ ഞങ്ങള്‍ പള്ളിവാസല്‍ എത്തി. ഒരു മലയുടെ ഓരം പറ്റി ഞങ്ങള്‍ റിസോര്‍ട്ട്ഇന്റെ താഴെ എത്തി അവിടുന്ന് ജീപ്പില്‍ രേസോര്‍തിലേക്ക് ട്രിപ്പ്‌ അടിച്ചു .
ഇനിയുള്ള ആ തണുത്ത ഓര്‍മ്മകള്‍ അടുത്ത പോസ്റ്റില്‍ .....

മുന്നാര്‍ യാത്ര

We (30 member group) of the Mathumala Family started for the family trip from Pallippurathu Kavu Temple , Kodimatha at 6.00 am on 31.07.2010. We reached Rohini, Ettumanoor by 6.30 am and started from there at 7.00 am. The journey proceeded towards Munnar via M.C. Road till Muvattupuzha. In the beginning, there was a slight confusion regarding one of the baggages. But the issue was settled on a Warfooting !! We stopped at Muvattupuzha Junction for having our breakfast from Aryaas. We had some Masala dhosa, Ghee roast etc. etc. We turned from the M.C. Road towards Kothamangalam and then towards Adimali. During our journey towards Adimali from Kothamangalam via Neriyamangalam Ghat Section, we stopped at Cheeppara Water Falls and had some refreshments and a small photo session. We proceeded towards Adimali and reached Pallivasal. At Pallivasal Junction near the Pallivasal Tea Factory, we took a deviation towards right and proceeded to Monte Cristo Resort at Pallivasal through the narrow road in the midst of Tea Plantations. The above resort is situated on the top of a hill and the elders were picked by a jeep for a short distance. The youngsters managed to reach the destination by way of a small trekking. The time was 12.15 pm. We got accommodated in the nine rooms situated in the ground and first floors, we had a delicious lunch which could not be criticized even by the women folk among us who claim themselves to be the experts of experts in preparing fish curry. At 3’O Clock, we went out for a small outing towards Mattuppatty Dam, Indo Swiss Project etc. We got a royal treatment at the Indo Swiss Project where High Yielding Varities of Cattle are bred. Usually it is out of bounds for ordinary visitors. But due to the influence of Aniyan chettan (Dr. Ajith Kumar), we could see the various varities of cattle in the Indo Swiss Project. We dropped our trip to top station due to the bad road condition towards there. During the return journey, our lady crew opted for some shopping. We came back to the resort by 6.30 pm and had tea and snacks.

The cultural programme started on the first floor open area at about 7.00 pm. The audio system was provided and managed by our elder member Kunjammavan. Mr. Shyam was sitting near his father with his laptop and was recording the entire programme live. We could see the terrific performance of the compere and performer Jayan chettan who really took great effort to be the part of this year’s annual get together. We could also see the performance of Mini chechi who displayed her talent by rendering the poems written by her. The performance of Deepa chechi was amazing and it reminded the old memories of the get together in Mathumala during the festival seasons. Aniyan chettan performed as usual. The seniors like Bhanu peramma, Santha peramma, amma and Mohanan Valiyachan performed well. The junior members like Lakshmi, Appu, Ammu etc. exhibited their talents as well. We heard a suggestion from Achu (Junior Pradeepan chettan) regarding an international get together during next year. At sharp 9.30 pm, we were before the table for our dinner. We continued the programme without the audio system with small discussions by small groups regarding national and international issues. The sleeping time could not be stated because it wasn’t orderly. I could see certain young guys sitting with playing cards.

On Sunday morning (01.08.2010) the members woke up from their bed according to their whims. There was no hard and fast rule for the same. Everybody was given the freedom to choose the above time. We could see certain persons who were busy in the early hours with an energetic morning walk. There was a little confusion with regard to the serving of the bed coffee. But it was sorted out with great co-operation shown by our members. The breakfast was ready by 9.00 am and everybody had the same. There were two opinions which clashed a bit with regard to the next step of the programme. But everybody whole heartedly opined that those who are healthy, young, energetic and enthusiastic can go for a visit to Chinna Canal area. The weak and mothers of infants chose to stay back. The destination ( Chinna Canal ) was abandoned due to shortage of time and we got satisfied with a short merry-go-round in Munnar town. We came back to the resort by 12.00 noon and had our lunch at 1.30 pm. We had a group photo session during the concluding moments of our trip. The vehicle was waiting for us down the hill. We got into the vehicle and were little exhausted. We stopped for refreshments at Muvattupuzha once again in the evening and to drop Aniyan chettan, Kichu, Deepa chichi and Kuttu. We reached Ettumanoor by 7’O Clock and Kottayam finally at 7.30 pm. The members started to fly back to their respective homes.

The third day i.e. 02.08.2010 is a day of hang over and nostalgia for us. Some of the young members took this as a chance to keep away from the school for one day. It was just like a day after an ‘Ulsavam’ in the temple after watching the programmes over night. Eventhough it’s a tiresome day for the members, due to various compulsions, they opted to be in their respective work places. We could visulalize the great memories of the assembling of the familiy members in our Mathumala Tharawad during Pathamuhayam and the following Vishu eves. The younger members who missed those great occasions and who could only hear from others regarding the same could really understand, feel and taste the warmth of a great union of our family. I felt the above from the body language of a young member among us – Kannan (S/o. Babu chettan) who became very friendly with others though he had comparatively less acquaintance with the young members. Really it was a great occasion. We can chart out our next year’s programme with more innovative suggestions. The co-operation shown by every member was praise worthy.
